the past few weeks at juanita bay park have been pretty exciting for a
number of reasons, especially considering the difficulty in finding
interesting wildlife to photograph...

so, it seems that some of that wildlife has taken it upon itself to pose for
the cameras, and do so for extended periods...

about two weeks ago, it started with a green heron that strutted up and down
the end of the western boardwalk as if it were a fashion catwalk, and didn't
seem the least rattled by a large group of people watching for almost an
hour...

today, it was about a rare sighting for the park, a peregrine falcon... he
was first spotted by an east lake washington audubon member, who pointed it
out to me... for the next two hours, i (and dozens of others) were allowed
to marvel at the bird as it went through numerous poses less than 30 feet
above our heads on the end of that same western boardwalk...

for those that are interested, 28 photos are available at
http://www.parkgallery.org, clicking on GALLERIES, CAREN PARK, and finally
RECENT JBP (top of the page)... these are rare gifts from the wildlife
world, and for that, i thank my feathered friends...
