Another great resource for those who want to atract wildlife to their yards is the fabulous book "Landscaping for Wildlife in he PacificNorthwest" by Russell Link. http://wdfw.wa.gov/wlm/landscap.htm

I had the opportunity to see Mr. Link speak in West Seatle a few years ago, and bought he book. It has been most helpful and has great illustrations.

Hi All,

Sorry I'm so late with this, but here is a great article from the P.I.
on what native plants could be used in lawn areas and the ills of
Eco-Turf. Getting away from grass seems to be bringing more and better
birds to my property.

Last year they recommended new seed be sown by mid-Oct. and we were glad
we got it done by Oct 16 because it snowed in the last day or two of the
month and our new seed still came up this spring. However, most bulbs
go out successfully anytime this month.
