Forwarded for Diane Mulholland:

Bob, Jessie and I just returned from looking at a Clark's Grebe in Oak Bay.
I thought I saw it yesterday, but it was feeding and not up long enough to
get good details. After lunch, I went to the boat ramp at the end of the
park to look for it. Found it quite close in with one other Western for a
good comparison. I called Jessie and she came down. We found it in the
same area. The Western's seem to come in the bay late morning and feed the
rest of the afternoon. We caught these two when they were not feeding so
much as preening. The white on either side of the eye is very apparent and
the back is a bit lighter than the Western with it. The neck stripe is hard
to judge as being narrower than the Western, as they mostly turned towards
us and sideways.

Could you please post this on Tweeters?

Thanks, Diane
