While checking out the shorebird flats at the South Jetty
of the Columbia River this morning I flushed a CHESTNUT-
COLLARED LONGSPUR (details to follow in a later post).
It flushed the east edge of the dune finger between the
big pond and the back ponds.

There were also 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS behind the back ponds
and a third unidentified longspur which flushed near the
big ponds.

Shorebirds on the flats included:
Semipalmated Plover 1
Sanderling 1
Western Sandpiper 1
Dunlin 12
Long-billed Dowitcher 1
Red-necked Phalarope 1
