Recently I posted about five Pine Siskins that showed up at my feeder that have a yellow coloration and I thought they were Goldfinches at first sight. When I looked at them closer I noted that they were actually Pine Siskins with the wing bars and the short, notched tails. Now I have two more that are really strange to me. These have white breasts and white tail feathers. I got an email from a kind person who quoted Sibley's and told me that the yellow was a natural coloring. I have basically zero computer skills, and I tried to look up Pine Siskins again to see about the white breasts and tails. Nothing was obviously standing out for me to see about this. My question is, are white breasts and white tails common in Pine Siskins? I would appreciate any help in regard to this. It is impossible for me to post pictures because I have no computer skills with which to accomplish this.
