Monday October 18, 2004:
A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was observed for around ten minutes in a backyard in Royston beside the Trent River near the old Island Highway.
Seven WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, eight GREATER SCAUP, one MERLIN and four PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were sighted at the Nanaimo River Estuary in south Nanaimo.
A HEMIT THRUSH was seen along the Cable Bay Trail in Cedar.
Two COMMON MURRE and one WESTERN GREBE were spotted off shore at Dodds Narrows in Cedar.

A pair of LONG-TAILED JAEGERS were seen on the water, not far off shore at Neck Point in Nanaimo.
ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS are coming to feeders along Parton Drive in Nanaimo.
