11:44am start - water level very high (11:59 high tide - 11.3ft; 17:18
low tide - 7.8ft) with no mudflats visible
12:12pm end

Tweeters,
High water, mostly sunny skies, and few birds on the water at Turning
Basin #3. Flocks of 5, 4, and 8 CEDAR WAXWINGS flew south and west
across TB3; and a NORTHERN FLICKER also stopped by briefly, calling, in
the top of a small maple along the east shoreline before it, too, flew
south.

I was scanning the horizon toward Hamm Creek when I picked up a bird,
wings open but bent down, gliding very quickly from Hamm Creek toward my
position next to the river: Peregrine Falcon in a power glide. It made
one pass over the Boeing building that usually has 20-30 pigeons in
attendance -- the pigeons took to the air -- but missed taking any of
them. It then banked to the right, and flew northeast.

I don't normally see MEW GULLS at TB3 unless the tide is out, but three
of them came upriver past me, then turned and headed back downstream.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Canada Goose (3)
Double-crested Cormorant (3)
Peregrine Falcon
Mew Gull (3)
Glaucous-winged Gull (9)
Rock Pigeon (55)
Belted Kingfisher
Northern Flicker
American Crow (13)
Black-capped Chickadee
European Starling (60)
Cedar Waxwing (17)
Song Sparrow
House Finch (5)
House Sparrow (3)

May all your birds be identified,

Denis DeSilvis
