My husband Arden, I, Mary Ann & Glenn Teague went to North Cove for the
BLACK-BACKED GULL for our second try. Another couple were there when we
arrived at 9:20 AM or so. They had seen it then after a stir of gulls they
were unable to relocate it. We searched and found in bathing on the far left
side of the group about 9:30 AM. We watched it for about 15 minutes but with
the next stir we were never able to find the bird again. It had obviously
taken off with some other gulls out to sea to feed. We left and came back
twice but never found it again so we left the area around 2:30 PM. Leaving
Mike Marsh and several other birders who were 15 minutes too late to see it
in the morning still searching.

At Tokeland we viewed the BAR-TAILED GODWIT along with the numberous Marbled
Godwit at the Marina along the shore.

At Midway Beach we counted 4 PEREGRINE FALCON and 1 BALD EAGLE sitting on
the beach. No Snowy Plovers were seen.
