Howdy,

During an afternoon break today, I visited Ogden Point (Victoria BC) and
found a Black Turnstone bathing. A few shots turned out interestingly, so
that spurred a revision of the turnstone gallery. I collected 10 images
from local photographers - it's amazing how good some of them look,
considering the species is rather drab. (I think there may be a misplaced
modifier in the previous sentence - I'm talking about drab turnstones, not
good-looking photographers). You can access the gallery from the recent

Humpback whales are still off the Victoria waterfront, fairly easily seen
from Dallas Road.
