Hello All,
This morning on our way north to Pullman and WSU we zipped into Pomeroy in hopes of locateing a FIRST COUNTY RECORD Blue Jay. So we drove street after street listening and watching with no luck. We did locate two Mountain Chickadees and six Western Bluebirds in the neighborhood south of HWY 12. Upon leaving Pomeroy at the last moment I turned north onto Elm Street and near the top of the street we heard the by now all to familar Blue Jay calls and tuttltuttles. There in this yard was a single Blue Jay at a set of well stocked bird feeders. So in the pouring rain we watched this beautiful visitor call, feed and fly off with a bill full of seed. As we headed up Kuhl Ridge Road 47 Chukar crossed the road in front of the car. This was unexpected and it was the largest number we have ever seen in Garfield Co..
