I was at Cape May New Jersey on October 4-6 and was struck was the flocks of
blue jays frequenting the area; tight flocks were often numbering a hundred
or so, and even the local birders were remarking on how odd it seemed. They
were flying low around the park and lighthouse area. Oct 5 was also a good
day for seeing sharpies and cooper's hawks, of which over 1100 came by
during daylight hours. Winds were cold and blustery out of the NW.
