Subject: [Tweeters] Common Grackle - SW Portland

I was astounded this morning at 8:15 a.m. to look up from my
gardening and see (and hear calling) a COMMON GRACKLE, teed up at the
top of a neighbor's fir tree. It soon flew SE, and an hour spent
walking the streets of the neighborhoods to the SE with my camera
failed to turn it up again. I'm writing up a description and will
forward that along shortly, but thought I should send out this
message now in case anyone feels like prowling around the Multnomah
Village area right away. I can't honestly give any advice for
refinding the bird, as I don't know of any blackbird roosts in the
neighborhood or other spots that would seem more likely than any
other. And this bird's behavior suggested an individual that was
moving through. At any rate, the bird was seen on SW 34th Ave.,
several houses north of Capitol Hwy, in Multnomah Village, which is
where Capitol Hwy and Multnomah Blvd come together, which is near I-5
and Barbur.
