Interesting article! About 10 years ago I was fortunate enough to
visit Santa Cruz Island to study some rare plants found there. This
was back when the jay was still considered a subspecies of the W.
Scrub Jay. I remember being blown away by how huge they are. It
appears some of those Island plants are high in steroids! I saw them
in virtually the same spot as Sibley -- now that's what I call a
stake-out!
