Subject: [Tweeters] Peregrine Falcon hunting from cruise ship

Hi Tweets - I have been off the list since May, working as naturalist
on Holland America ships to Alaska. So apologies if I have missed
something somewhere -
Several times in Glacier Bay, a peregrine landed on the ship, and
chased and caught juvenile (I think) Kittlitz's Murrelets which were
flushed by the ship. The birds were brought back by the falcon to the
ship and eaten. I would like to hear if anyone else has observed this,
or if anyone has seen it written up anywhere. A couple of other nats
and marine pilots had seen it. If it is unusual, I will write it up
somewhere. I have a few photos if anyone is interested but I would have
to email them as I haven't learned how to post to a website (still
working on programming the VCR).
Thanks for any help
