Hello All,
This afternoon MerryLynn and I drove up Mill Creek on this cool overcast day to see if we could locate any birds. Sure enough just as we were nearing the Blue Creek Jct. MerryLynn spots a single Northern Pygmy Owl perched atop a spruce in someone's yard. The first of the fall for us.
While driving home near the last few homes along the north shore of Mill Creek I spotted a black snake soaking up what little heat was on the road. This snake was 20" long and I picked it up just before an on coming car arrived on site. It was a melanistic garter snake which I photoed and released.
Later Mike
