Hi Tweeters,
Last night was the last weeknight I will be able to
see the Cacking Geese arrive at late dusk to roost at
Boeing Pond. Tuesday night they arrived in several
different batches. Last night it was en masse! I did
a rough count of about 500 geese in the large flock
arriving from the south over the Boeing building. It
really is a sight to see. All the ducks and the geese
seem to be adjusting to the fact of human activity in
the area. Before the geese arrived the crows were
there for a preroost visit and mercilessly harassed
the immature Northern Harrier that I see there
sometimes. Also the resident muskrat got quite a
fright when it was liesurely swimming up to where I
was sitting and then noticed me. The Redhead duck is
still there. I will miss my after work birding due to
daylight savings, but it would get too dark even
without the time change soon anyway.
Non birding the eclipse of the moon was fantastic and
the Red Sox won the world series! It was a great
evening!
