Scott et al.

I checked with Jerry Etzkorn about vocalizations, and he said that
unfortunately, there were no utterances whatsoever.

Tweeters and Michael:

Brother, Vancouver I has been hot for birds lately. Without reiterating the

plumage issues, I share the Norway birder's concerns posted on Vancouver
Island birds. Key question: did anyone hear the bird? This is a quick and

easy way to decide species, given that Gray has a dry, 2-note "chit-chit"
call, quite dissimilar from Yellow's more extended "teez". In Kamchatka,
where I ran into many of both species over the 90s, Yellow would be far more

likely in this habitat; Grays would stray from their streamside/lakeside
haunts in migration, but I don't recall ever having one on a beach, whereas
that was a typical spot for Yellows.
