Hi Tweeties!
If any of you are in touch with a San Joaquin Valley version of = Tweeters,
please pass this along to that list.
Yesterday, my mother who lives in Bakersfield, CA called me about a very
unusual bird she spied in her backyard. She said it was about the size = of
a robin with a "silvery gray breast", darker gray back and wings and an =
almost black head. Her description sounded just like a gray jay! She had
never seen one before and I told her to "Google" gray jays and check out =
photos of them on the internet. The photos, she says look just like the
bird she = had seen!
Okay, so what the heck is a gray jay doing in Bakersfield, CA?
If it wasn't, then what looks like a gray jay that lives in the San
Joaquin Valley?
(It wasn't a mocker, she's got = them in her yard all the time, as well as
scrub jays)
