A late report and a current one:

On Wednesday, I birded the Skagit/Samish with a visiting Floridian, and we
saw the GYRFALCON perched on one of the power poles west of the ?T?. Our
sighting sounds very much like Bob Sundstrom?s on Saturday
we watched him
take off from the pole, head at high speed past us across the fields to the
NE, and then steal prey from 2 Northern Harriers. Seems to be quite a
successful ?hunting? strategy for him.

This morning at Juanita Bay Park, 2 BARROW?S GOLDENEYE drakes were out in
the bay along with the large numbers of Coots, Wigeons, et al. The Park
species list now stands at 158
and counting.
