Watched an outstanding flock enter our yard this morning in Mt. Vernon.
Included in the flock were: both of the regular chickadees along with 2 or
3 mountain chickadees, the kinglets, and both orange-crowned and townsend's
warbler. The Mt. Chickadees actually came to our feeder, and the flock
hung around with the juncos and finches until a Sharp-shinned hawk came by
and cleared out the remnants. I'm always amazed at how exciting backyard
birding can be... even in the middle of the city.
