Hi Tweets,

I managed to put a few hours of birding together today in spite of the
wind. While birding was slow, probably due to the wind, several highlights
were noted.
Soap Lake's East Beach was devoid of any late shorebirds, but several
hundred mixed Cackling Geese and Canada Geese have taken up residence on the
beach. A single juvenile GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was located amongst the
others. Of interest were 49 Tundra Swans that were loafing on the lake. This
is the first time I have seen this number on the lake.
Lake Lenore produced the normal variety of waterfowl, including some
striking male Barrow's Goldeneye. A single second winter GLAUCOUS-WINGED
GULL loafed with several Herring Gulls at the first developed boat launch.
Alkali Lake produced nearly one-hundred Tundra Swans with 90% being adults.
Also present were thirty BONAPARTE'S GULL at the south end of the lake.
The south end of Banks Lake was quite slow with no noteworthy birds
located. The lake is quite low and there were large mudflats along the
lakeshore along SR-155. Several flocks of Tundra Swan were located resting
on the mud bars. Near Steamboat Rock State Park a single RED-NECKED GREBE
fished on the edge of the large coot flocks.

That's about it

Cheers
