Hello Tweets!

I am happy indeed to have a visiting Mountain Chickadee in my yard this
morning! My husband, who 'says' he's not a birder (and after careful
instruction to notify me if any chickadees with a white eyeline show
up......), interrupted my morning shower to advise me of The Sighting!!!

In case you can't tell from my e-mail address, I adore Chickadees, and was
hoping, with fingers crossed, that a Mountain would grace my feeders!!!
Thank You!

I live in the Brown's Point area of Tacoma -- and had all 3 Chickadees, plus
a leucistic fellow that I have been watching for a few weeks. He/she is
beautiful indeed with a frosty head and cape. It has been interesting
watching this bird get lighter and lighter. The feathering that spills over
onto the darker (by comparison) breast gives the impression of a fringed
and delicate cape. I'm wondering if this might be a Mountain Chickadee also,
as it isolated from other Chickadees when I first noticed it's arrival, (and
it's behavior was always a bit more furtive) however today has been flying
with the Mountain. Any idea whether albinism is more prevalent in Mountain
vs. Black-capped/Chestnut-backed?

Happy in Tacoma,
Faye McAdams Hands
