Steve Warner called at about 13:30 this afternoon to report
that he had seen a single ELEGANT TERN on the beach part of
the Cove area at the south end of Seaside.

Michelle and I arrived shortly after 14:00 to find that the
numbers had swelled to 3 ELEGANT TERNS. Also present were
about 100 HEERMANN'S GULL and at least that many CALIFORNIA
GULLS. Several hundred WESTERN GREBES were on the ocean with
a lot more SURF SCOTERS.

We also scanned the gull flocks from the high school overlook
to the Necanicum. No obvious Elegant Terns there, but BROWN
PELICANS and more CALIFORNIA GULLS.
