At the risk of arousing several varieties of ire, passion, and hatred, I
will just point out the most important way for everyone who loves the
natural world to spend their two cents, or more: Help assure that the most
anti-environmental administration ever to occupy Washington, D.C., is
roundly defeated by voting for John Kerry and trying to induce everyone you
know to do the same. The Sierra Club and some other organizations have
pointed out that if all the people for whom environmental issues are a top
priority would do this, we could swing the election. Just remember: It's
your lungs taking in the polluted air, your body absorbing the polluted
water, and your birding area being mined, logged, and "developed."
