Christy Anderson and I spent a beautiful early fall morning at Spencer
Island near Everett.
Nothing too unusual, but there was a good sized group of BONAPARTE'S GULL,
two LESSER YELLOWLEGS, a small flock of SANDERLINGS and a couple of RUDDY
DUCKS on the large sewage pond/lake. We also spotted several juvenile
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, WILSON'S WARBLER, MARSH WREN and CEDAR WAXWINGS along
the road to the island.
Two NORTHERN HARRIERS were working the marsh, a lone OSPREY floated
overhead, and the bushes along the southwestern-most dike was filled with
AMERICAN GOLDFINCH.
The ponds were devoid of ducks, with the exception of a MALLARD or two.
A great day.
