Subject: Tenino swifts update for 9/7
Date: Sep 8 12:42:23 2004
From: Paul Hicks - PHicks at accessgrace.org

Tweets,

Tue Sept 7
60-70 swifts -- 1 observer -- approx 7:57 to 8:00
1 individual 1 minute ahead of the pack
2 individuals 2 minutes behind the pack
1 individual apparently found lodging elsewhere (same as 9/6)

Location: 125 Sussex E.: Joe's Car & Truck Sales/Brazil Stove sales, corner of Hodgden & Sussex (= the "main drag" = Old Hwy 99/SR 507), across the street from City Hall & Fire Dept., kitty korner to the post office (a good place to park). A good vantage point that provides a light background (you lose them against a dark background) is sitting on the street curb of the City Hall lawn, directly across the street from the chimney.

This will be my last update for a week. Perhaps I will see a parallel phenomenon while in Connecticut!

Good birding!
