Hi Tweeters,

Ellen and I saw the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher near the corner of Randolph
and Tyndall Streets at 4 pm today. I'll elaborate here just in case this
bird, lovely indeed, shows a daily pattern. Randy Hill gets you nicely to
the corner of Tyndall and Randolph (North from I-90 at Exit 179 ~ 3.6 miles
to Stratford Road exit. North on Stratford Road 3.6 miles to Tyndall Road.).
Left here to stop sign at Randolph Road. Here, we took a right (north) 0.8
mile to a heavy duty chain link fence (with 3 barbs on top) and walked west
~1/4 mile along the north side of this fence to a "T" in the fence. Another
chain link fence (again heavy duty with 3-barbs on top, military paranoia
style) goes south from here. The bird was flycatching along this fence.
Another spot where the flycatcher was seen was to continue along Tyndall
Road from Randolph to it's end. Go right into the Boeing (appears disused)
parking lot and go to the north end and peer along the same fenceline.

Good luck. If you arrive early and don't see the bird, head to Soap Lak for
the Sabine's Giull, then return when the bugs are good and warm and flying
about.

Regardless of whether the flycatcher appears, you'll be impressed by the
gigantic Air Force jets training right overhead.
