Subject: Brown Pelican at Luhr Beach

Luhr Beach in Thurston county continues to produce. There were 3 MARBLED
GODWITS still present on the rising tide and 1 distant BROWN PELICAN at the
edge of the low tide line and later in Pierce county waters towards Anderson
Island. This could be the same bird that has been present in downtown
Olympia since it was also subadult and I've seen it (presumably the same)
from Boston Harbor, so it may wander. I wanted to head downtown to see if
there was another bird present but since I was supposed to be doing homework
I decided to skip it.

Other birds:
Common Loon
R/N Grebe
Surf Scoter
W/W Scoter
G/W Teal
American Wigeon
8 Phalarope sp (most likely R/N)
1 California Gull
1 Western Gull
6 Common Tern
Pine Siskin (flock heard)
Evening Grosbeak (heard in my neighborhood this AM)

Wishing I could have seen the Scissor-tailed,
