Hi Tweets,

I apologize for this late post. On Sunday, 9/12, an apparent Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker in juvenile plumage was observed and photographed in Blue Heron
Park (formerly known as Moses Lake Community Park and Moses Lake State Park)
near Moses Lake. Since I am completely unfamiliar with this species, and did
not get very good looks I did not post until the picture could be reviewed
by someone familiar with this species. It is possible that it may still be
present, though it was not located this evening due to poor weather
conditions.
To get to the park exit I-90 west of Moses Lake on the Mae Valley exit (I
think it is exit 174). If you are west bound, turn right and cross the
freeway on the overpass, take an immediate right on the north frontage road
and continue to the park (app 3/4 mile). If you are eastbound take the Mae
Valley exit to the west of Moses Lake and immediately turn right. The park
is on your right.
The bird was working the trees to the south of the boat launch near the
lake and is in very drab juvenile plumage.
Again, I apologize for the late post.

Cheers
