Hello All,
Today we spent most of the day way up on Table Rock east of Walla Walla in the western face of the Blue Mountains in Columbia County Washington. This was my third hawkwatch at this site and once again it proved interesting.
This site is located at 6058' and affords a 360 degree view of the entire northern Blue Mountains. Today's temps ran from 38 to 45 degrees F. Winds were 18-24 mph in the morning and 6-10 mph during the afternoon. Thick rapidly moving clouds obscured the area off and on for the first three hours of the watch. We arrived at 0945 hrs and departed at 1430 hrs. Our results are as listed below.

Red-tailed Hawk.............7 birds
Northern Harrier..............1 bird
Golden Eagle..................2 birds
Merlin.............................1 bird
Am. Kestrel.....................1 bird
Prairie Falcon..................1 bird
Sharp-shinned Hawk........7 birds
Coopers Hawk.................8 birds
Northern Goshawk...........2 birds
Unknown raptors..............3 birds

Passerines Observed

Common Raven.................23 birds
Horned Lark.......................6 birds
Am. Pipit...........................22 birds
Chipping Sparrow................1 bird
Red-breasted Nuthatch........2 birds
Townsend's Solitaire.............2 birds
Yellow-rumped Warbler........1bird
Northern Flicker...................15 birds

All of the listed species were observed from Table Rock, Umatilla National Forest, Columbia Co., WA by Mike and MerryLynn Denny
