Subject: I-90 feeding station

Yesterday, on my way to Moses Lake International Aerodrome I stopped at the
eastbound Rye Grass "rest stop" on I-90 between Ellensburg and Vantage. To
my pleasant surprise, it appears that someone has been consistently feeding
the chipmunks in the rocks directly behind the bathrooms. I had never seen
so many in such a small place -- yellow pine and least.

Additionally, the chipmunks were sharing their bounty with relative tame
white-crowned and sage sparrows .. great looks at five feet!

And who knows what else might show up there to eat the seed or the seed
eaters.
