Maurie & Tweeters:
I recommend Western BIRDING BY EAR, a 2-CD set by Richard Walton.
It's in the Peterson Field Guide series. It gives you a system to
learn the bird songs. Very well-presented, and there are a lot of
bird songs here. Published in 1990.
For a more-complete set of songs and calls, but w/ no help in learning
them all, I like the FIELD GUIDE TO BIRD SONGS, Western Region, by Don
and Lillian Stokes. Publ 1999.
