Subject: Photos from Beechy Head Hawk Watch

Greetings,

I took advantage of a sunny, pleasant day to visit the hawk watching site
above Beechy Head, East Sooke Park on southern Vancouver Island. Six other
folks were enjoying the spectacle as well.

Nothing rare, but fantastic close up views of vultures - we tallied 120
Turkey Vultures. I don't think any migrated south thought - they seemed to
be sticking around for hours and hours.

There was smattering of other soaring birds, and about 80 Vaux's Swifts and
150 Band-tailed Pigeons.
