11:19am start - water level high on incoming tide (12:11pm high at over
10ft); no mudflats visible
11:46am end

Tweeters,
Mostly sunny and pleasant, with a brisk breeze from the south, and seven
gillnets strung across Turning Basin #3. (No fish jumping today!) The
high water level always coincides with low species and individual counts
(unless there are lots of starlings), and today wasn't an exception.
Speaking of exceptions, I saw the first WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW at my
"usual" viewing spot since June 4. Another exception: Two OSPREYS were
on the east-bank power tower, but for the first time since March 31,
none were directly at the Hamm Creek site.

Birds seen during this scan include the following:
Mallard (12)
Osprey (2)
Glaucous-winged Gull (3)
Rock Pigeon (7)
Belted Kingfisher
American Crow (2)
Bushtit (15 - est.)
Bewick's Wren
European Starling (10)
White-crowned Sparrow
American Goldfinch (2)
House Sparrow (3)

May all your birds be identified,
