Tweets,

Perhaps due to the break in the blustery weather, Monday Sept 20 proved to be fairly productive for warblers at a site near Tenino. This is a wooded tract with a pond and trails, 1/4 to 1/2 mile of which I have routinely checked for about 3 years. Monday's warblers (two main groups):
Yellow (4+2, including 1 bright male, at or below eye level; highest count here at any season)
Orange-cr (1 or 2 + 1, closely associating with the yellows)
Black-th Gray (1+1)
Townsend's (1: first showed up 9/15)
MacGillivray's (1, a bit of a surprise)
Yellow-rumped (1 or 2)
Yellowthroat (many)

Also: 1 W Tanager (male? been around a while)
6 Swainson's Thrushes
1 possible Hermit Thrush
2-3 "sharpies" in the vicinity

New to the site list:
#126: Barred Owl (9/6)
#127: Merlin (9/20)

On 9/17, 23 passerine types were present while standing at one spot between showers near sunset.

I think I'm learning to like this fall birding gig. Great fun!

Good birding!
