Slight southerly airflow, overcast, and rain at Turning Basin #3.
Checking the river now was quite a bit different from earlier this
morning (about 8am) when it was sunny, and when most of the 30-or-so
Glaucous-winged Gulls I saw then were feeding on salmon carcasses. Not
much moving in the wetness at this time, although a WILSON'S WARBLER
foraging in a butterfly bush next to my primary viewpoint was a first
for me on this part of the river. Five gillnets presented the usual
hurdle for "upstreaming" salmon.
