Hola Folks,
I can add a few records to the Willets in the Sound thread. I know of 7
records in the 1990's. all from 3 locations: Port of Olympia, Mud Bay/
Perry Creek, and Kennady Creek. Jason is right there were 3 (or possibly 1
more) consecutive years where a single Willet wintered in the Port of
Olympia East Bay area (1994 - 1996). A bird showed up at Perry Creek in the
fall, from 9/17 to at least 10/16, 1998. One or possibly 2 Willets may have
wintered in Mud Bay in 1999 (Olympia Christmas bird count). A Fall migrant
was at Kennady Creek 10/11/1999. Also I know Patrick Sullivan found a
Willet at Kennedy Creek in or before 1994. Interestingly I have nothing for
the 2000's.
Cheers and good birding
