Hello Bill,Ian and Tweets,

Yes, indeed my mother and I observed a Willet at Kennedy Creek in Mason Co. on the 3rd of September,1994,which was photographed and an article published in WA Birder Vol. 2 #4,specifically about Kennedy Creek. The 1994 bird remained for a few weeks allowing other to see it. We observed another Willet at this location on the 15th of October,2001. It is good to know about other Thurston Co. records that we weren't aware of and only know of two Mason Co. records as of currently. Perhaps Russel Rogers will have more to add from his large data base to add to the growing discussion. We apologize for not replying sooner,BUT Ian Paulsen did specify inquiries for"Central Puget Sound" in his Tweeters posting on the 21st,so we figured that meant sightings between Pierce Co. north to Snohomish Co. and west to Jefferson Co. It is still a species we anticipate showing up in Pierce Co. eventually,if it somehow hasn't already, perhaps most likely from the Port of Tacoma area!

Sincerely,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan

> Hola Folks,
> I can add a few records to the Willets in the Sound thread. I know of 7
> records in the 1990's. all from 3 locations: Port of Olympia, Mud Bay/
> Perry Creek, and Kennady Creek. Jason is right there were 3 (or possibly 1
> more) consecutive years where a single Willet wintered in the Port of
> Olympia East Bay area (1994 - 1996). A bird showed up at Perry Creek in the
> fall, from 9/17 to at least 10/16, 1998. One or possibly 2 Willets may have
