Sightings for September 22

An imm. WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and an imm. GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW were
feeding on the lawn at 23 Caramello Road in Kelowna (IW).

At Robert Lake were 2 SANDHILL CRANES, 10 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and 2 juv.
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS (CC,GW,LL,SK).


Sightings for September 20

In Salmon Arm an adult SABINE'S GULL was feeding on the wing off Christmas
Island (BC).

Along Old Vernon Road in Kelowna, 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS were seen at the N.
end of the wood pile (JO).

Two imm. AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS and 6 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS were at Robert
Lake in Kelowna (CC). A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was in the tall grasses to the SE.
of the parking area at Robert Lake (CC).

In Summerland, a GOLDEN EAGLE was seen at the rodeo grounds (JO).


Sightings for September 19

In Salmon Arm, the juvenile SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was again seen with about
60 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS on the flats off the Nature Park at the foot of
Narcisse Road (CC,RT). Also here were up to 21 BLACK-BELLIED and 1 AMERICAN
GOLDEN-PLOVER (CC,RT).

An. imm. WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was again in the bushes near the mouth of
the Salmon River (CC,RT).

In Kelowna, a juv. PEREGRINE FALCON was chasing shorebirds, including a juv.
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, and 5 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS at Robert Lake (CC,HV).

A ROCK WREN was along Sunnybrae-Tappen Road in Salmon Arm near the community
of Glen Eden (FK).

At the Vaseux Banding Station a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT and a female AMERICAN
REDSTART were banded (DCa).
