Today was spectacular weather! Huge movement of passerines last night as Hood Park was loaded with warblers, sparrows, nuthatches and a merlin.
Species seen:

Hood Park ( 24 Sept. 2004)

Yellow-rumped Warblers...........300+
Townsends Warbler..................2
Wilsons Warbler.......................2
Orange-crowned Warbler...........1
Common Tern...........................14 on the Snake River
Red-breasted Nuthatch...............5
Varied Thrush............................4
Hermit Thrush............................2
Merlin.......................................1

Along HWY 12 at Nibler RD.( 11 miles west of WW)

Wild Turkey............................12
Great Egret.............................1
Turkey Vulture.........................14+ on roost, rare species in Walla Walla Co..

Over our home in College Place

Common Nighthawks..................22 evening of the 23rd
Common Nighthawks..................94 evening of the 22nd( most we have ever seen in the WW valley ).

Sandhill Cranes...........................23 over Bennington Lake morning of the 21st.

Raptors...............dozens between Lowden and Touchet......mostly Swainsons, Red-tailed and Harriers.
