Sightings for September 25

In Salmon Arm, a single BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER was with a flock of PECTORAL
SANDPIPERS on the mudflats off the Nature Park at the foot of Narcisse Road
(CC,DC,HG). Also there were 5 AMERICAN AVOCETS and 2 SANDERLINGS (CC,DC,HG).

Two SABINE'S GULLS could be seen over Shuswap Lake from the wharf in Salmon
Arm (CC,HG).

At Christmas Island, 3 juv. AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS were seen (CC,DC)

At Robert Lake in Kelowna an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER continues as well (RT).


Sightings for September 24

The juv. SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was again with a flock of PECTORAL
SANDPIPERS on the flats off the Nature Park at the foot of Narcisse Road in
Salmon Arm (TH). Also in Salmon Arm, 5 AMERICAN AVOCETS were feeding on the
flats to the W. of the Nature Park (TH).

In Kelowna, a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE was at the Chichester Bird Sanctuary (TF)
and the AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, along with 7 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS continue
at Robert Lake (TF).

An ad. WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was seen at the Vaseux Lake Banding Station
(DCa).


Sightings for September 23

In Kelowna, a FORSTER'S TERN was observed at the Maude Roxby Bird Sanctuary
at the foot of Francis Ave (BC,m.ob). From Rotary Marsh came the report of 4
COMMON TERNS (BC,m.ob). In the South Okanagan, an imm. COMMON TERN was
feeding along Hwy 97 between the Pyramid and Soorimpt Provincial Parks, S.
of Summerland (LRock). Also in the South Okanagan, 4 SANDHILL CRANES were
seen over downtown Penticton (LRock).

At Vaseux Lake, a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was seen with CANADA GEESE at
the N. end of the lake (DB).
