Today I had an odd hummingbird visit the penstimons in our back yard. First noted how large it seemed, sort of Anna's size like are common in our yard, but light buff on the sides of the belly/flank area. Belly was white. Throat was speckled quite heavily going up into the cheek areas with no color showing in the speckling. The back was solid green. And noted small amounts of rufous in the tail feathers. I did not hear any call chips or sound of any kind. An Anna's tried to chase it away. There are two possiblities: 1. Anna's X Rufous or Broad-tailed. Are there any records of Anna's X Rufous crosses?

Anyone wanting to watch for it at our feeders are welcomed. I have not seen it return, but it may have visited the other feeder.
