Hi Tweeters:
This morning my son and I birded the Davenport (Lincoln County) Cemetery. It was very active with migrants, but the one that I particularly want to mention was a beautiful adult male Black-throated Blue Warbler that was extremely cooperative and even foraged at times on the lawn in the sunshine where it could be observed minutely. While it probably won't remain for an extended period like the Scissor-tailed flycatcher in Moses Lake, this gorgeous bird is well worth the chase. Other birds present in the cemetery included, in the order recorded, a Sharp-shinned hawk, one or two Brown creepers, some Red-breasted Nuthatches, many Yellow-rumped Warblers, many Juncos, a couple of Northern Flickers, a huge number of Ruby-crowned Kinglets, several American Pipits, one Robin, a few White-crowns, several Pine Siskins, a couple Mountain Chickadees, and one Wilson's Warbler. What a delightful way to spend a sunny Sunday morning.
Cheers,
