Subject: [Tweeters] stilt sand at Spencer Is

There was a stilt sandpiper just west of Dagmar's on the entrance road
to Spencer island. Seen at about 3:45 on Sunday 9/26, when the tidal
water levels were still quite high at Spencer Island itself. Not much
in the way of other shorebirds around outside of killdeer. The
Bonaparte gull numbers seemed way down from last week, no luck finding
any little gulls unfortunately

Yellow warblers seem to have all moved out, yellow-rumps and a few
orange crowns seemed to be it for the warblers. Also still an Osprey
flying around

Also, there was a large brilliant orange-and-black beetle picking up and
moving a shrew carcass(????) I know it's off bird-topic but I'm still
curious if anyone has any ideas....
