Greetings Charles and all:
There are perhaps a very small handful of breeding records for the state; I
know of at least one from the Hart's Pass area in the North Cascades.
However, they are extremely rare/sparse in the summer (a couple recent
reports from Pend Orielle and Okanogan). Surely nesting happens more often
than has been documented, but not in any numbers.

We do see occasional influxes of family groups from areas to the north near
treeline in September and October. They seem to especially take advantage of
juniper berries at this season.

Cheers,
Charlie Wright.
