The "Birder's Guide to Washington" (published in 2003) does NOT "have
it covered" as far as sewage ponds for birders in Washington. This
guide lists 14 sewage plants in the Index (plus Iona Island in BC). By
comparison, Bill Tice's privately-published book, "A Birder's Guide to
the Sewage Ponds of Oregon"
(1999), has detailed information on 65 sets of sewage ponds in Oregon,
plus brief notes on 28 other sets of ponds (some of which are
off-limits to birders).

Of the 6 sewage ponds that you mentioned in your earlier message, 4 of
them are not covered in the Birder's Guide to Washington.

I see a lot of value in compiling information on Washington State
sewage ponds for birders, and I would encourage you (or others) to
continue this effort. Even if no publication is planned (the market
would admittedly be small), a website, or part of a website, devoted
to this subject would be very useful-- especially to "county listing"
nuts like me. There have to be 50 or more sewage ponds which could be
included, but even a partial list would be helpful. A website would
have an advantage over a book, in that changes in access rules (which
happen often at sewage ponds) could be updated whenever necessary.

By all means, please continue this effort!
