Just so you won't forget: turkey vultures are at the height of their
migration. I'm sitting at home not seeing them, but in 1998, on the 27th of
September, 1137 turkey vultures came into Salt Creek in about four hours
time. In 1999, on the 28th, there were 719, and in 2002, there were 541 on
the 26th and another 619 on the 30th, just part of the totals. The ones
that cross (or parts of their flocks) are often seen a day or two later in
our area around Seattle.
