Dear Tweeters,

Yesterday, 9/28, I saw a EURASIAN SKYLARK busily foraging in the parking lot
lawn edges, west of the main beach building (by the three flags), at
Semi-am-oo, near Blaine. It came within six feet of frozen me before flying off toward
the beach.

There used to be a nesting colony of them at American Camp on San Juan Island
until, I believe, the introduced foxes did them in. This one could have been
from the existing remnant Canadian flock introduced several years ago near
Vancouver. What a beautiful bird!
