Hello All,
Again today MerryLynn and I joined Ken Knittle and Alan Richards in birding
the morning away. We headed for Garfield County to see what we could locate
on this blustery day. We observed the following species of note:

Wild Turkey.................25 birds on the WWCo./ Columbia Co. line.

Horned Grebe..............6 birds on the Garfield Co. side of Central Ferry
at the grain elevator, then 4 more at the boat launch at Willow Bar along
the Snake River. These birds ranged in plumage from winter basic to full
breeding alt. plumage.

Great Blue Heron.............16 birds in the air at once over the mouth of
Lower Deadman Creek.

Turkey Vulture...................1 bird over the mouth of Lower Deadman
Creek, only 4th or 5th record for Garfield county.

Northern Shrike...................1 ad. at Central Ferry, getting late to
still be here.

Barn Owl..........................1 ad. in cutbank along HWY 12 in Columbia
Co.

Chukar.............................1 bird west of Pomeroy

Fox Sparrow......................1 bird at feeder in Pomeroy

Orange-crowned Warbler.....1 ad. in current bush at the Garfield Grain
Growers boat launch.

Yellow-rumped Warbler........2 at Willow Bar Boat Launch, both were singing.

Well that is it.
Later Mike
