This morning around 8:10 Zach Elsner and I found the Baikal Teal after
scanning the flooded fields North on 277th St. S in Kent. We parking
just east of the guard rail and scanned the fields for about 20
minutes before locating it. We made an arrow out of cattail reeds and
a broken jar indicating the line of sight where the teal was located.
There was black netting just behind and to the right of the teal. In
the 30 minutes or so we observed it we was mostly resting and
occasionally preening it's feathers. Quite a beautiful bird.
